Main Street Artists Gallery & Studio - Fine artists working, inspiring and supporting one another
Kathy Lindsley Bio

I’ve enjoyed arts and crafts since childhood, but a 1993 class at Rochester’s  Memorial Art Gallery with M. Wendy Gwirtzman was my introduction to watercolor.

Since then, art has taken on a major role in my life, enriching me with friendships and travel as well as the joy of creative expression. Thinking about making art helps me view the world in new and wonderful ways.

Trying to capture what I see and imagine and feel is always challenging and sometimes incredibly satisfying. Even when I fail – and I fail time and again – the process of stretching my mind and expanding my skills is tremendously rewarding.

I retired in July 2010 from Rochester Institute of Technology, where I had served as editor of The University Magazine for 10 years. Before joining the staff of RIT’s University News Services, I worked as a reporter and editor at the Rochester Times-Union and Democrat and Chronicle for 18 years.
