Linda M. Cala
studied Studio Art at Monroe Community College.
I received an Associate in Arts Degree from Empire State College. My early work was devoted to oil painting. I
have made a life-long commitment to the study and exploration of art in various
media. Through the Memorial Art Gallery, Visual Studies Workshop and working
with local painters such as Patricia Tribastone and Christine Wara, I continue
to challenge myself and grow as an artist.
focus over the past several years is in my work with pastels. It is in this
medium that I feel I have found my true home.
I am passionate about the medium of pastels and subjects that reflect
heart and spirit, especially the luminescence, inspiration and energy that comes
from nature and animals.

I have completed commissioned work for a local small business owner and a
private client. I have a piece in the permanent collection of the Sketchbook
Project at the Brooklyn Art Museum.
