Kathy Lindsley Bio
I’ve enjoyed arts and crafts since childhood,
but a 1993 class at Rochester’s Memorial
Art Gallery with M. Wendy Gwirtzman was my introduction to watercolor.
Since then, art has taken on a major role in my
life, enriching me with friendships and travel as well as the joy of creative
expression. Thinking about making art helps me view the world in new and

feel is always challenging and sometimes incredibly satisfying. Even when I
fail – and I fail time and again – the process of stretching my mind and
expanding my skills is tremendously rewarding.
I retired in July 2010 from Rochester Institute
of Technology, where I had served as editor of The University Magazine for 10 years. Before joining the staff of
RIT’s University News Services, I worked as a reporter and editor at the
Rochester Times-Union and Democrat and Chronicle for 18 years.
