Cris Metcalf

Cris graduated from Lemoyne College and Syracuse University. After she retired from teaching, she joined Suzi Zefting-Kuhn and the Main Street Artists. 

She started studying with Brian O’Neil and became enamored learning the basics of line, value, and shape using just black and white charcoal. She now works in pastel and oil using those same principals. Since that time she has taken classes with renowned artists such as Rob Liberace and Susan Lyons. 

Cris is a Signature Member of the Rochester Art Club, a member of the Pastel Society of Western NY, the Western NY Plein Air Painters and the Greater Rochester Plein Air Painters.

Cris finds art to be her meditation. It quiets the mind and brings focus to beauty.  It is a record of “her interior life”, not always the one shown to the world.
