Jacqueline "Jackie" Lippa

Jackie Lippa's inclination toward and love of Art began at a very young age.  She invited neighborhood children to participate in Art Shows strung up on the backyard clotheslines of her 16th ward home.

Jackie pursued her undergraduate study at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she majored in Painting and Illustration.  After devoting herself to raising three sons with her husband, Louis, she made time to further pursue her paused Art endeavors.

It was through the experience of volunteering and working in schools as a visiting artist that she witnessed and enjoyed the natural attraction, motivation, and comfort level children seem to possess when making Art.

This positive energy inspired Jackie to acquire a Master of Science in Education Degree from Nazareth College of Rochester, with Art as the Specialty Area.  She has taught at the Elementary and Secondary Level in both Urban and Suburban Schools, as well as Adult Drawing Classes in various Continuing Education settings.  Regarding this, Jackie states, "I feel privileged to have been instrumental as a part of each child's and adult's art experience.  I love when I get stopped in the Supermarket, or elsewhere,  by a former student telling me how enjoyable the class was, and how they delighted in what they learned.".

Jackie has held memberships in the Webster Art Club, Print Club of Rochester, Main Street Artists, and is currently a Signature Member of the Rochester Art Club, where she served on the Board of Directors as Program Chairperson.

When asked about her own art making, Jackie explains, "It's liquid.  You know how a liquid conforms to the shape, or the form it is poured into...likewise, whatever I'm feeling or experiencing in the moments when I am creating my art, will be evidenced in the finished work which serves to hold it all in one cohesive expression, or statement.  I am equally comfortable with my abstract interpretations, as well as my detailed ones which lean toward realism.".
