Gabriele Lodder

Gabriele  was born in the Bavaria region of Germany and presently resides in Penfield, NY. She is a self-taught artist, never seriously venturing  into painting until much later in life. Gabriele, being a Sagittarius, loves to travel and the outdoors.  Her travels have led her through Europe, the Caribbean and our own United States.   Many of her painting subjects are from her travels which reflect the culture and the beauty of those surroundings.

She began with watercolor, continued on to oil and then to pastels and likes to mix-it-up with a new desire for abstracts.  She honed her skills by taking workshops with locally and internationally known artists such as Pat Tribastone,  Liz Haywood Sullivan,  Christine Waara, Debora Stewart, Jacob Aguiar, Brian O’Neill, Aaron Schuerr, Chris Kolupski -- all to build confidence and hone her skills. Gabriele’s work has been shown and juried into numerous exhibitions and received Merit and Jurors awards accordingly.

Gabriele thinks that there are certain mediums that make a painting come to life. The artists’ choice of medium makes a painting speak – whether it is the ruggedness of a mountain or the delicate beauty of a flower.

She is a member of the Main Street Artists and Gallery in Rochester, NY where she maintains a studio. Gabriele is a past president and a member of the Penfield Art Association(PAA), a Signature Member of The Rochester Art Club (RAC) and a member of the Pastel Society of Western New York.   The friends that she has made in these art clubs, and the endless support she receives from her associates, inspire her to continue creating great art.

“The true joy of painting is when you share it with other people” – Bob Ross.
